Grand Bazaar

Grand Bazaar was built in 1455-1461 after the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople. Sultan Mehmet II named as Cevâhir Bedestan and devoted to the trading of textiles. 

It is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. Grand Bazaar has 61 covered streets and over 4.000 shops. It has daily around 400.000 visitors. It is in the list of most visited tourist attraction. It is located in the district of Fatih.

Egyptian Market or Spice Market

The name of mosque was first New Bazaar. Then it got its name Egyptian Bazaar. Because it was built with the revenues from the Ottoman state of Egypt in 1660 and as a part of the complex of the new mosque.

It is located in the Eminonu and one the most famous covered shopping complex after the Grand Bazaar. Spice Market has around 90 shops selling spices and turkish delight and other sweets, jewellery, souvenirs, and dried fruits and nuts.
